Hi, my name is Heddi. I'm the big cheese founder of travel gift card,, coming to you from San Francisco. Today, we're going to talk about how to change the share button and we're talking probably more about blogs as opposed to websites. My dog has a blog. This is absolutely ridiculous but she does and there are different ways that I could have set up the share button. Now we use Blogger but you can also use WordPress. The one I'm going to show you on Blogger is run by Google. It's an incredibly easy platform because the technology is already built in and let's get going. So this is my dog, A Very Opinionated Spaniel. I know a cheap treat when I see it. Look at one of the blog posts that she has done, not me and you can see the share button and the Facebook and Twitter and LinkedIn sharing features. It was very easy to set up because I didn't do any of this, make a note of this, I cannot do anything technical, but I did this and if I can do this, you can. So I'm going to show you. Go into, create a blog and then go into your pages and click on add a gadget, scroll down, click on featured and zip down a little bit and you will see there's different ways about sharing. There's like share this, you can like socially integrate this with your Twitter account, Facebook account, whatever, click on share this. All you do, no brainer, click the plus button. How big and how wide and how high do you want it to be? This is the worst thing you will ever deal with it's insane. I'm going to change mine to 500 pixels. I press save. You're going to see this in a second, it's magical. You're going to see share this now isn't there. You can drag and drop and you can slide it around. I'm going to keep it at the top and then I'm going to show you now, I'm going to refresh my page F5 to do a hard refresh. You will see the share it will come up so you save your arrangement, you can view your blog. I'm going to F5 in a second now which is in your controls and look, share it is coming up on the right hand side. I did nothing to achieve this, I Googled it. Google's blogger platform, you can do the same thing in WordPress as well. So that's one way to do it but that's if you want to shout out the whole blog. So I decided that I don't want, you can change the name of it as well. I'm going to remove that because I prefer each individual blog pages and the blog posts to have a share button and so I'm going to save the arrangement. So I've now removed that. You can see now, what we're looking at here is the ones I'm going to show you how I created. So again, you click on the post, you scroll down a bit, you click on show share buttons, show share buttons, try to say that five times really quickly and then you can see all the different individual features that you can add. So you can add these, you can add I don't know, advertising afterwards, whatever you want to do. This is the one that is the one that's most popular and you want to be able to add this to each individual post. So you're not sharing, you are sharing the individual posts and oh my God, Muppet is the funniest dog ever, that's the one that you are looking at and that's the one that we've just achieved so you click save arrangement, and then you can go and click view blog and it will refresh itself and if you scroll down, you will then see and it's just taking a few seconds, that's now vanished, the one that I had before, we don't want that on the page. We want individual posts to share and you just highlight it and you just post out email, Facebook, Twitter, Twitter LinkedIn, various other ones, Delicious, Reddit, StumbleUpon and you're done. So remember when you are setting these up, go to or go to WordPress. WordPress and Blogger are the two most popular. I use WordPress for work but for, the fun one, I just went to Google. It's free to use and remember, when you are looking at layout when you go to Blog it, it will give you different options. In layout is where you can add the share this button and you can drag and drop it, remember you are then sharing out the whole of the blog, the title, but if you want to share individual posts and have that feature, go to the part that I told you, the second part where i showed you the individual posts and you can edit and then it says underneath each post you want to have advertising, do you want to have sharing features, yes I do, yes I do, thank you very much. Google is that easy and then you just save the arrangements and you're good to go. It's so easy laid out, I can do it. My name is Heddi. I'm the big cheese founder of travel gift card, coming to you from a wintry San Francisco. Have a brilliant, brilliant, brilliant day.
