Hi, I'm Renee Byrd with Camp Gladiator in Dallas, Texas, and today we're going to talk about how to do a proper deadlift using your heels. Some very very key important points you guys, one of them, don't lock out your knees. Keep your knees nice and soft. Second, make sure your heels are driven down into the ground. You never want to come up on your toes when performing this drill. The other thing is chest has got to be out, abs are pulled in nice and tight, shoulders are driven back and down and remember not to bend from your waist. Here you're going to tilt more with your hips. So a great way to measure where your hands need to be on this bar is kind of take your thumbs and place them next to your thighs, that way you kind of get an idea of how wide your hands need to be. Second thing, row those shoulders back and down with your chest out, pull your core in, drop those heels and as you tilt you want to keep the bar nice and close to your legs. Again, never locking out your knees, keeping them nice and soft. Again, I'm Renee Byrd with Camp Gladiator, and we just covered how to do a deadlift using your heels.
