Hi. I'm Monte Mathews from Mont'sHam.com. And whereas this might not look like the best part of my all natural ham, to some people it's treasure. This ham bone is the basis for the best soups you've ever tasted. It is the original soup bone. So when you come to the end of your ham you haven't come to the end of the wonderful things you can make with it. You saw us making split pea soup on another video, but this is one of the most wonderful ways to use a ham bone, is to make split pea soup. The other soup that absolutely everyone loves is of course lentil soup. And here are some beautiful red lentils. This will make a wonderful soup with a wonderful smokey ham flavor to it. It's worth keeping these bones even if you don't use them immediately you can freeze this bone and you can put it into your freezer and next time you want to make a bowl of soup there you've got it, the basis for a great bowl of soup, a ham bone. I'm Monte Mathews of Monte'sHam.com and I've just told you how to make the best soup you've ever tasted.
