Hi, my name is Susan Combs, and I'm an insurance broker with Combs and Company. Today, we're talking about where to get cheap health insurance. To be quite honest, if you could find out I'd be more than happy if you tell me. With cheap health insurance, what I always tell my client is you can have cheap insurance or you can have good insurance but you typically can't have both. What that means is you need to know how you utilize the insurance. If you are looking for a lower premium and you are not a high utilizer of the insurance then you can probably find cheap insurance because you are only looking for say one visit a year. You know, an annual physical or you might be sick once a year. But if you are looking for good insurance, say you know, you have a child that has special needs that you are going to a lot of specialists, you are looking to have a baby and you need to have maternity coverage and you go to doctors that are out of network, then it's going to be very difficult to find cheap insurance that are going to give you all those bells and whistles. A couple of things that you might look at are the Chamber of Commerce in your area. Sometimes they have some association plans depending upon what you do for a living that you can look into on their website and see if there is some buying power that they lump together. There's also some unions that you can look at joining that might offer you some lower cost insurance options. When it comes down to it, research is going to be your best friend. Look online, talk to insurance brokers, talk to The Chamber of Commerce, talk to all the associations you are affiliated with and see what's going to be the best option for you.
