Hi, my name is Susan Combs and I'm an insurance broker with Combs and Company. Today, we're going to be talking about how to lower your insurance premium. So when it comes to insurance, it's a scale. So it's either you are going to have a lower premium so that you are going to pay more out of pocket or you are going to have the inverse where you're going to have less out of pocket and you're going to have a higher premium. So you have to decide how you utilize your health insurance. Are you somebody that has an accident-prone kid that's going into the hospital every single month for falling out of trees? Are you somebody that has allergy shots, that you are going to the insurance provider, doctor, every single week for shots? Depending upon how you utilize that, you might decide that if you are going to be going frequently, you might want to have a higher premium so that you are paying less out of pocket because you are utilizing it more, or maybe the inverse is possible where you are somebody that goes to the doctor say once a year just for an annual physical. So you rather pay more when you have to go to the doctor so that you can have a lower premium. So depending upon what you are looking to do, that's going to really depend on how you are going to tackle lowering your premium. So you really need to look at talking to an insurance professional and give them your total picture of how you utilize the health care so that they can know how to best cater your needs and assist you with how to lower your premium.
