Hi, I'm Erin Hendley, professional makeup artist, and today I am here to answer your question can petroleum jelly be used as a moisturizer. The answer is yes. What I would recommend, however, is that you don't use it as a daily moisturizer underneath your makeup because that can really make it cling to it and it's not manipulative for your foundation. So what I recommend is to use it at night and what we're going to do is just apply a little bit of it with a sponge or your fingers, either or works and just to show you that it's thick, it comes in a very thick consistency so what we're doing is preventing any of the free radicals that would normally break us out from touching the skin. And petroleum jelly is just known to lock in moisturizer and it's just one of the ageless things that people still continue to go back to and it's so inexpensive. It's just one of those hidden gems that people don't think about most of the time but like I said it is thick, so if you have oily skin, I wouldn't recommend it all the time but if you just need to even out the skin tone and just create a really soft skin texture, then this is the perfect overnight remedy. It's also great if you want just a little bit of shine for the daytime. I mean a little bit goes a long way for that purpose though but for a moisturizer it works great. I'm Erin Hendley, and I just answered your question can I use petroleum jelly as a moisturizer.
