Hey, what's up? My name is Chase, and today I'm going to show you how make graphics with letters and texts in Illustrator. First, I'm going to start by creating a new document real quick. My idea is just for like a quick, simple invitation. I'm going to change it to seven inches wide by about five inches tall, just a nice five by seven card. Hit okay. And now, I'm just going to, let's just say that it's a, it's a birthday party, let's add a few text layers by creating a text box. Let's write, "Happy Birthday," and we'll adjust the size of that make it kind of large. Let's see. Just center that on the card; maybe we can add maybe like a fill background, just like to punch up the color of the card so it's not white. By doing that, I'm just going to take the rectangle tool, it's going to automatically fill with black. I'm going to change the color by clicking on the color palette and just selecting this nice red color. And by holding the command and bracket button down, it's going to send out layer to the very back, so that way we can see the Happy Birthday on top of it. Ah, let's add a second little text box and we're going to add a date and a time for the party. So, let's see. When? Tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. I'm just going to adjust the size of the text box, also adjust the type 'cause it's, we want it to be a little bit smaller than the Happy Birthday. Oops, let's see. Already. So, we have a when, let's do a where real quick. The Pizza Place, down the block. It's a very simple party; just pizza 2:00 p.m., no biggie. You can see that the blocks actually try to line themselves up within CS4 here, it's pretty nice. And so there you have it, we have a pretty simple mail or card; it's just says, "Happy Birthday," we used a few text boxes and we also use an object in the background to fill the background with a nice pink red color. When you are all finished up, all you have to do is go to file, save, save as; you name it whatever you'd like; invite and hit save and click okay. That's pretty much it. My name is Chase, and I showed you how to make graphics with letters and type in Illustrator. Thanks for watching.
