Hi, I'm Sabrina Moxie with Body Lingo, and I'm here at Body Lingo Dance Fitness Studio in South Pasadena, California. Now, it's no secret that kids these days aren't as active as they used to be, but I'm gonna show you some really great exercises that your kids can do at home to stay active and healthy even during the dog days of summer. So one really great and underrated exercise is crawling. The truth of the matter is a lot of times you keep telling your kids get off the floor, get off the floor. Well, now is actually the time that they can stay on the floor and have some fun. So, I'm gonna go down into a crawling position to show that crawling is actually a really great exercise. It's really great because you're actually stabilizing your core to keep you in a crawling position and you're actually getting a great amount of movement and resistance training for your arms and your legs, so go ahead crawl around, have some fun and get a great workout while your at it. Another great exercise that kids can do indoors or out is jumping jacks. It's fun, it's easy, it doesn't take any equipment and you could even turn it into a contest. So, nice, wide jumping jacks will keep your kids laughing, healthy and having fun. The last exercise I'm gonna show is actually running in place. We might often tell our kids, "don't run in the house," or "don't run indoors." Well, if they must run indoors, they can run in place. Again, you can turn this into a contest between kids, you can say, "how fast can you run?" or 'how long can you run in place?" Running, whether it's done in place or in motion, is a great way to elevate the heart rate, keep the blood pumping, and get a serious cardio workout. So when your kids are looking for something fun and active to do, let them go ahead and run in place.
