Hi, I'm Tyler Tsujimoto with Tsujimoto Fitness in Midvale, Utah. Today, we're going to talk about how to get bigger for a fullback position. Okay, fullback you know football you think big bruiser behind the line, hand the ball up to you to pick up a few extra yards, maybe score that touchdown across the goal line and a lot of people want to know how they can get bigger and stronger for that position. Okay, there's a few things that we need to keep in mind when we talk about getting bigger okay. First of all we want to make sure we put on weight so it's harder for the opponent to tackle you but we want to make sure it's the right kind of weight also. You don't want to just increase your body fat percentage a ton for this position because you still need to be able to be pretty agile and quick. So we want to put on a lot of muscle which comes to how you lift and how you eat. Okay we want to make sure that both of these are right on par in order for you to see the best results for this. Now if you want to get bigger for a fullback position you need to lift heavy. You need to lift heavy enough that you really aren't doing more than maybe ten repetitions per set and you need to make sure that you're giving yourself enough time in between sets to recover. Also the exercises you do, a lot of the Olympic lifts, squats, bench press, power cleans, the snatch, the clean and jerk, those are going to build overall body mass very very well for you. Secondly, nutrition, we need to eat a lot of calories. If you want to be big and strong you need to eat a lot of calories, make sure you watch the correct type of calories that you put into your body, get enough protein, carbs and fats so that your body has enough energy to perform efficiently and to be able to help see those gains that you're looking for so that when you go out there on the field you can be the biggest, strongest, quickest fullback out there.
