Hi, I'm Stephanie Prosenjak from Cherry Creek Dance, here to give you a few tips on how to perform a role in a ballet. First, you want to make sure that you're taking regular ballet technique classes because you'll need to know how to dance ballet before being put in character role. Next, either in a choreography or character class, they will teach you stage movement, acting and how to be the character of the piece that you're in. There are several different types of ballet such as the Nutcracker, there's Clara, Drosselmeyer, Snowflakes, Fritz the brother; there are lots of different character parts; Copellia and Swan Lake. There are books that you can read about the stories of the ballets or you can watch the movies of them and learn a little bit more.
