Hi, my name's Mathew Pierce. I'm a software engineer, and today I'd like to talk about opening .EVT files. Now,.EVT files are Windows event log files, and they're viewable with the Windows Event Viewer that comes with Microsoft Windows. Now, the problem with these files is, if they're created on one computer, not everything in them is viewable on another computer. However, you can view something. Now, to get to the Windows Event Viewer, you open up your control panel. Go to system and security, administrative tools, and you can see right there the Windows Event logs. Open that up. That'll take you to the event viewer. You can then open your saved file, wherever it may be. I happen to have one saved here in my--one of my directories. Windows Event Viewer will load it up, and then you'll be presented with a log file with the contents. Now, this is a binary file, so you can't really do anything with it another text editor, or something like that. You may be able to hack it with a hex editor, but really, it's only useful in Windows Event Viewer. My name's Mathew Pierce. Today, we talked about opening and viewing .EVT files. Thanks a lot for watching. Bye.
