Hi, this is Nicholas Larocci, the home source guy. President and owner of Source Development Inc., a a residential and commercial construction company in Garnerville, New York. And this is home remedies to clean tile. There are a few home remedies to clean tile but before we get into that I'm going to get into the biggest mistake homeowners make. So one of the biggest misunderstandings that homeowners have is that the discoloration that's present in the grout is due to the cleaner that you are using. A lot of these cleaners that are sold over the counter are very gummy. They actually do the opposite of cleaning. They almost magnetize dirt to the grout joint which is the most porous part of it. This is the best to me is white vinegar and water. It's a great acidic product, naturally acidic. And there's no residue left over. Another is lemon juice. You can even combine the two I guess. Another quick cleaner would be toothpaste. Believe it or not I've heard some people use toothpaste with a grout brush. There's also other forms of cleaners. If you have any residues left from metallic or ferrous materials. Maybe you know you have constantly running water that drips on the tile, it turns green lets say from the copper or metal, brown from the metals. This calcium, lime, and rust remover is great for that. You just have to watch that some of these products can discolor the grout. So if you have a particular application that you really want to be cautious you might want to test it in a certain area before you apply it. So there's over the counter cleaners for stone, especially formulated for stone or natural stone. And this is home remedies for cleaning tile grout. This is Nicholas Larocci, the home source guy. President and owner of Source Development Inc, a residential and commercial construction company in Garnerville, New York. Helping you build a better life. We'll see you next time.
