Hi, I'm Kristen Rzasa, owner of Interplay health and host on FTNS World's First Fitness Radio. Today, I'm here at the jazzercise fitness center in Stanford, Connecticut to talk about how to stretch a stiff ankle muscle. Whether you're a dancer or a runner or just like to stay active, ankles are crucial to your workout. That also means it's quite easy to injure them as well. It's always a good idea to stretch your ankles before and after you exercise. This can be done with a couple of very simple stretches. The first stretch is simply to roll your ankles. For this particular stretch, it doesn't matter if you're standing or sitting. Roll each ankle both clockwise and counterclockwise. And make sure you take your time while doing this. The second simple stretch is to flex and point your toe. This can be done standing or sitting. Our last stretch is done standing up, and it's simply putting your weight into the balls of your feet, elevating your heels, holding and then lowering them, but try to keep your heels off the floor. Those are a few simple stretches to work out a stiff ankle muscle. I'm Kristen Rzasa here at the jazzercise fitness center in Stanford, Connecticut.
