Hi, I'm Bob Holcomb from Apex Automotive in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Today, we're going to take this tire off of this rim. And I'll show you a couple of tips along the way so that you can do it successfully. First thing we need to do is let the air out of the tire. We're going to remove the valve stem completely and let all of the air out of the tire. Once all of the air comes out of the tire, then I'm going to need to pop the wheel off of the bead. I'm going to use a tool on the side of the tire machine. The machine is going to remove the tire from the wheel's bead. It's going to apply pressure in an inward motion. Sometimes we need to spin the tire to get the bead off all the way around. I'm going to remove the bead from this side of the tire as well. Once the tire is removed from the bead, I can put it back down the machine and remove the tire. Once again, if this was a TPMS system, I'd be very careful about the sensor that's inside the wheel; although this is just a standard tire valve. The key to removing this tire is to get this tire into drop center, the lowest point of the wheel. I'm just going to pull the tire up over the top of the bead, making sure the tire is in the drop center and then spin the wheel around the tire. The bottom bead should come right off. The tire is now free from wheel and all I need to do is remove the tire from the wheel. And that's how we remove the tire from the wheel.
