Hello there. I'm Kendall McGuire, professional music expert. And today I'll be teaching you how to oil a violin. Well, you can buy oil which is a special violin lubricant which will really protect the varnish and the wood on your instrument. And what you'll do is you'll take a little bit of that oil, and you put it on a cloth like this, OK. and you will then begin to just go over the instrument, the wood of it in sort of small circular formations. OK. So, you're going to really get it in there good and this is great for the upkeep of your instrument. And of course you'll flip it over on the back and begin to oil and varnish the back. So, the cloth that you use, you want to make sure is just a hundred percent cotton, all natural for your instrument. Because your instrument is made of all natural wood, right. And even the bow is made of horsehair which is natural and mother of pearl which is natural. I'm Kendall McGuire.
