My name is Doug Levi. I'm with Strategic Insurance Services. Today I'm going to talk to you about the average cost of health insurance per person. This is a obviously hot topic right now. First thing I'm going to say is it really depends. Are we talking family? Are we talking individual? Some of the statistics that we've recently seen are for a family of say four, with husband and wife in maybe their mid to late forties, you could be looking at premiums close to ten thousand dollars per year. That's not uncommon. It's certainly not uncommon for a family of four to pay anywhere from eight hundred to maybe fifteen hundred dollars a month for health insurance. One of the things that I would recommend, instead of focusing on the actual cost of the insurance, is to review and review with other carriers. So, you want to look at other carriers that are in the marketplace, to determine what coverage is appropriate for you and also what the rate is. You might have one carrier like Blue Cross maybe charging a lot more than another carrier like UnitedHealthcare or vice versa. So, we've obviously got a lot of changes occurring in our system right now with the ObamaCare package that's already become in effect and changes that are to come in the next few years with this. So, health insurance is certainly a concern for most families. I would definitely recommend to review your coverages. This has been how much does the average health insurance premium cost an individual per year. My name is Doug Levi and I'm with Strategic Insurance Services.
