Hi, I'm Colleen Mullaney for Colleenmullaney.com and you know, kids love to make crafts with Popsicle sticks and they come in all different shapes and sizes these days and they come in great colors as well. I have a couple of really cute ornaments that I've made and the kids love to make these, a little snowman and a little toy soldier and they're adorable aren't they? So let me show you today how to make a snowman which is one of my kid's favorites. You're just going to take, and this is what they look like when they're not painted, they're just plain wood and you know you can paint them with acrylic paint any color. So I've painted a couple white and here I've started my snowman. I've painted a small one black for the hat and then what you're going to do is you just lay it over the top of the stick right here and you can attach it with a little tacky glue, tacky glue works wonders on this craft, just like that and then you just paint the top of the hat black, using black acrylic paint. Just take a little bit on your brush or of course, if you have a bunch of these you can just put the paint in a little bowl and just like that and there's your hat and then once that's set and dry you're just going to make two little dots for eyes, a little carrot nose and you know the fun part is adding the accessories and you know, I have a lot of felt and some little fleece pieces left over so I cut out little scarves, these are adorable and you just kind of stick it around the stick just like that right below the carrot nose and attach it with tacky glue. And then you're going to add some buttons for the snowman's buttons and you know, again these are just found in the craft store, you know, they have like a random selection. You can buy them in variety packs or you can buy them per color but if you're doing crafts with the kids I suggest you get a variety pack with all different shapes and sizes and colors. So we chose yellow on this one and you just glue them with the tacky glue, so easy and then too add your little string in the back. It's just some decorative cording and some great Christmas colors. This one is red because I thought the snowman has a red scarf. I just thought red would be great for here and then our toy soldiers, this one has gold because we have the gold accents here and also you know, you can make stars and this is so pretty. You can make stars and just paint all of these sticks one color and then just add all these gems, just glue them on and this makes for a really sparkly ornament and you know my daughter, Katie, is really into glam these day so I painted a bunch of sticks pink and then on top of that I painted them in purple glitter paint so you can see they really shimmer and shine and to that then to really give it the glam factor for the holidays you can add little gems on the ends of the sticks and you know, they come in sheets of different shapes, different color ways and just pick and choose what you want, just grab a couple of packages and decorate your sticks and then you can glue them together for your glam snowflake. So, thanks for watching. I'm Colleen Mullaney.
