Federal Grants for Green Projects
There are many United States government grants for green projects. A green project could be anything that reduces environmental pollution or creates electricity or energy from renewable resources. The grant most appropriate for a particular project will depend on the goals of the project. By looking at the available grants, you can get a better idea of which might be more applicable to your team's needs.

Pollution Prevention Grant Program
-
The Pollution Prevention Grant Program gives money through state and tribal programs to help give technical assistance to businesses who want to develop better waste and pollution management strategies. These grants are managed and administered by the United States Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) 10 regional Pollution Prevention Grant Program offices. The amount of money available will depend on congressional appropriations for the program.

EPA Investigator Initiated Grants
-
EPA investigator-initiated grants are available for green projects in a number of areas. As the name suggests, applications for these grants must be initiated by an EPA investigator. These grants can be used to mitigate risks from toxic environmental substances, assist with training in environmental decision making, mitigate the effects of airborne particulates or any other situation where an EPA investigator sees a potential positive environmental or green impact.

CARE Grans
-
Community Action for a Renewed Environment (CARE) grants work to reduce pollution through community-based grants. The grants work to reduce risks from toxic substances that originate from a variety of sources. Funded projects have worked to reduce air, land and water pollution and the promotion of green energy alternatives. Specific programs have included asthma reduction and blood lead-reduction programs in Baltimore, Maryland and the control of storm water runoff in the Virgin Islands.
