Bus Driver Training Schools

According to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is needed to drive a bus. The Department of Transportation (DOT) and specific state offices accredit bus driver training schools throughout the country. Most training schools provide two to eight weeks of classroom instruction and hands-on driving practice. They teach federal guidelines, driving safety, scheduling and passenger courtesy. Bus driver training schools prepare drivers for the DOT theoretical and practical bus driving licensure examination.
