For the groom-to-be that loves hitting the links, throwing a golf-themed bachelor party is sure to be a success. There are several ways that a simple round of golf can be turned into a special occasion to celebrate his impending nuptials with male friends and family members. This can be carried out a week or two in advance, or even the day before the wedding to soothe any wedding jitters he might have.
Organize a golf tournament in honor of the best man. Have T-shirts made to commemorate the day, put teams together and have a prize for the group that wins. Be sure to document the event with team photographs and video.
Choose a location far from the bachelor's home to enjoy a few rounds of golf. The online magazine Ask Men rated Scottsdale, Arizona, as one of its top ten bachelor party locations. With over 200 golf courses to choose from and temperate weather year-round, it is an ideal spot for golf lovers.
For the groom who loves beer, organize a pub crawl right on the golf course. Have a different kind of beer waiting for him at every second to fourth hole, depending on his normal alcoholic intake. Surprise him with new brands he hasn't tried or bring out all of his favorites. Be sure to have a designated driver, or plan for a driving service to pick everyone up at the golf course.
Dinner and Roast
After playing 18 holes, the bachelor party will likely have quite an appetite. Plan lunch or dinner in advance, either at the golf course or his favorite restaurant, and surprise him with a roast in his honor. Everyone will stand up and tell a story about the groom-to-be—usually funny or embarrassing—that will lighten the mood and be a great way to end the day.
