Bone Crackers and Dip
-
Southern Living magazine suggests using a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut flour tortillas into bones (or cut bone shapes using kitchen scissors). Brush with melted butter and bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes or until crisp. Serve with your favorite bean or cheese dip.
Pumpkin Cheese Ball
-
Another Halloween-themed idea from Southern Living magazine is to combine 16 oz. shredded sharp cheddar, 8 oz. softened plain cream cheese, 8 oz. softened chive and onion cream cheese, 2 tsp. paprika and ½ tsp. ground red pepper. Mix well, cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. When completely chilled, form the cheese ball into a pumpkin shape (smoothing with a spatula and adding grooves with your fingertips) and top with a broccoli stalk. Serve with sliced apples or crackers.

Pretzel Ghosts
-
The party planning blog "The Kids Birthday Fun Review" includes an idea for making pretzel ghosts by dipping pretzel sticks in melted white chocolate and allowing them to dry on wax paper. Then add two eyes and a mouth with chocolate sprinkles or mini chocolate chips.
Monster Toes
-
Disney's Family Fun magazine offers the following recipe for "Monster Toes." Cut flour tortillas into 4-inch-by-¾-inch strips and soften them by placing them between damp paper towels and microwaving on high for approximately 20 seconds. Cut "toenails" into cocktail wieners by cutting a wedge out of one end. Wrap the wieners with the tortillas (leaving the toenail exposed) and secure with a toothpick. Bake for 7 to 8 minutes in a 350 degree oven and then fill the toenail with ketchup or mustard.
Eyeball Caprese
-
Evilmadscientist.com takes traditional insalata caprese to a whole new level by placing sliced tomatoes atop basil leaves and topping them with slices of fresh mozzarella which then act as the "whites" of the eyeballs. Slice the end off a green olive and cut a small hole in the outside (this then becomes the "iris"). Fill the hole with a small piece of black olive (the "pupil") and place the entire thing on top of the mozzarella.
