Hip, Sophisticated Clothes
-
Immature or inexperienced teens can sometimes make the mistake of wearing tacky, too-short, too-tight, too-revealing clothes, or even clothes that are too childish. You can avoid these mistakes by following only the trends that work for you, and dressing primarily for your body. That said, being a teenager means fitting in and being trendy. You just have to pick the trends you really like, and skip the ones that aren't flattering on you. For example, if you have a large chest, you may want to skip the tube top craze, since tube tops give very little support and coverage. Or if you have short, stocky legs, you may want to avoid wearing capri pants, which can make your legs look shorter.
Makeup

One of the biggest makeup mistakes teens make is wearing too much of it. As a mature teen, you have the sense to wear understated makeup. You have young, smooth skin, and there is no reason to cover it up with foundation. If you want to cover individual pimples, you can do so with a spot concealer. You can also use a little powder to make your face matte if it looks too oily. Besides that, all you need is a few swipes of blush on the apples of your cheeks. A natural peach shade looks good on all skin tones. Use a mascara that complements your skin and hair shade. If you have dark hair, go ahead and use a black mascara, but if you have blond or light hair, use a brown color mascara to avoid looking like a vamp. Eyeshadow is optional, but if you decide you want to use it, avoid dark or unnatural colors like green or purple, which can sometimes look tacky, or make you look sick. Finally, choose a lip gloss that's similar to your natural lip color. You just want to enhance your natural lips, not create a fake look. Be sure to avoid any extras like glitter or eye jewels that will make you look too childish.

Skin Care
-
All the clothes and makeup in the world won't necessarily make you feel beautiful if you don't take care of your skin. One common problem teens face is oily and acne-prone skin. If this is your problem, start washing your face morning and night with an cleaner that has salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Don't pop your pimples, which can cause scarring. You can also try a drugstore spot treatment for big pimples.
