Color Themed Party Ideas

Color themed parties are ideal for children and adults alike. Just about everyone has a favorite color or a selection of colors they prefer. These parties feature one or more colors as the decorations and other décor pieces at the celebration. Little girls who love pink and purple might enjoy a princess party featuring those colors. Boys who favor monster trucks might prefer dark blue and army green as their top color choices.

Baby Shower

  • Baby shower parties are sentimental color themed parties for the mother-to-be. The colors of the shower are usually based on the mother's preferences or the sex of her baby. If she is having a boy choose soft colors like baby blue, white and green. For a girl select purples and pink colors. You can also base the colors on the mother's favorite colors as well. For instance, if she loves yellow and purple yet wants the sex of the baby to be a surprise-go with these colors. If the nursery is decorated in a blue nautical theme you can select these colors instead along with adding decorations like boats and bottles filled with sand.

Wine Tasting Party

  • A wine tasting party can feature vibrant colors such as burgundy and purple. Decorate the location of the party based on the colors of the wine featured. For instance if you are displaying Merlot along with white wine and other varieties of burgundy wine- choose burgundy and off white as your main color. White wine is not pure white, but more of a yellowish off-white color. Some colors of wine may also have a purple or green hue. Choose white or cream for the table cloths and add decorative balloons featuring your color of choice. Buy plastic green or purple grapes at the craft store as party decorations.

Silver and Purple Princess Party

  • Another color themed party idea is a silver and purple princess party. This idea is ideal for a little girl who loves to dress up like a princess. You can have a general princess theme with purple and silver decorations or feature specific Disney princesses. If the star of the party likes pink more than purple then go with silver and pink instead. You can find princess decorations at your local party supply store.
