Sometimes finding individual Christmas gifts for every one of your friends and family members can be a daunting task. Consolidate your shopping by giving one gift to each of the couples in your life. There are a variety of affordable options that both recipients will enjoy. Be sure to give something the couple would be able delight in together.
Give a couple a nice gift basket and personalize it with items you know they like. Selecting little tokens and creating the basket yourself will be more cost-effective than ordering a pre-made basket. If the couple likes movies, for example, include some popcorn, candy and perhaps movie tickets, a gift certificate for movie rentals or even an actual DVD you think they would like. Or, if the couple enjoys drinking coffee, include some fresh coffee beans, biscotti and even two stylish coffee mugs. If the couple likes sweets, put together a collection of sweet pastries--you can even bake some yourself--include a variety of cookies for a basket; or, bake some scones and include some different teas in a basket.
Give a gift certificate for a relaxing massage for both individuals. Many places even offer discounts for first-time visitors. For a romantic twist to the gift, the couple can actually get their massages together. Find a local spa and give a couple the gift of a delightful massage of their choice. Or, give a gift certificate to a fine restaurant in town. This is special as you are giving them a gift that they can use and enjoy together. If the couple has recently moved into their home, they may appreciate a gift certificate to a local hardware store--you can even package the gift certificate in an actual tool box. Gift certificates can be somewhat impersonal, so if you are close friends with the couple, make sure to give them something you know they will enjoy that says something about their interests.
Give a couple a gift that they can put up in their home. A picture frame can be personalized with their names or a message engraved on it. Include a nice photo that you have of the couple. Or, give a digital picture frame that they can load up with a collection of their favorite photos. Digital frames are now offered at affordable prices. Another economical idea would be a simple wall hanging for their home, such as a "welcome" sign or a blessing for the home. A beautiful, decorative candle set also makes for a nice yet affordable gift that both individuals will appreciate. Or, give a wreath to hang over their fireplace, or on their front door. Go to your local home goods store and you will find a variety of discount home supplies for a couple to use.
