Top Territorial Dog Breeds
The American Kennel Club (AKC) provides a list of 26 dogs that belong in the "working group" of dog breeds. These dogs were bred to protect property, pull sleds and rescue victims, and all of them possess intense loyalty and territorial qualities. Most are large dogs, and although they make excellent companions, many of the breeds require specially disciplined training to perform to their fullest capacities. Other territorial dog breeds include the Giant Schnauzer, Anatolian Shepherd and Akita.
