Christian Wii Games

Wii games, in general, are great for all age groups because of the user-friendly control system and easy-to-understand game controls for each game. When finding Christian-friendly Wii games, look for games that are playable for younger children and teenagers, as these games have less violence and suggestive themes than mature rated video games.

  1. "LEGO Batman"

    • This adventure game is rated "E10+" and is intended for ages 10 and older. Guide2games.org rates this game as "some issues" with things like mild suggestive content, mild violence, destruction and other negative elements. The games suggestive elements include a part in the game where a female character wears a suggestive outfit made of leaves. Since Batman is a crime-fighter, there is some violence in the game where characters use hand-to-hand combat and guns. When enemies are killed, the LEGO characters fall apart. As another result of the crime-fighting theme, destruction comes in the form of explosions, environment destruction and vehicle combat. One negative element to the game is the option for players to play as Batman villains.

    "Mario Kart Wii"

    • This racing game has a 5 out of 5 stars "Christian rating" on Guide2games.org and is rated E for all ages. One negative concern within the game is the idea of shooting other karts with items. However, this does not heavily influence any kind of aggression outside of game play. If players choose to play online, there is a chance other players may name their Miis (personal game play characters) with dirty or suggestive names, but this isn't because of the game's design or character setup. The game takes practice to achieve the right skill set to consistently win matches against the computer and other players, but the game's learning curve is relatively quick for any player that regularly practices the game controls.

"The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess"

    • This single player adventure game has a 3 out of 5 stars "Christian Rating" on Guide2games.org. Some concerns with this game are violence and adult content. The main character, Link, uses a sword and shield to fight enemies throughout the game. Instead of bloodshed, enemies such as skeletons and giant spiders "bleed" black dust. The violent scenes during game play and cinematic cut-scenes are not gory but can be strange at some times during the game for younger players. The game contains no inappropriate language or sexual content. However, there are some female characters with slightly suggestive low-cut outfits. The theme of Gods and demons is also present throughout the game as part of the fantasy realm called Hyrule, which is where the game takes place.
