Use flashing light margarita glasses, and let guests take these home as a favor. Stick to a red, green and white color scheme when you blow up balloons, hang streamers and set out table linens. Get a sombrero pinata for guests to take a whack at later into the party.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
-
Let everyone know that Santa is coming to town. Make Santa hats mandatory, and invite people to decorate or create their own original Santa hats. Make it into a competition by awarding prizes for the most unique, funny or beautiful hats. Use giant peppermint candy sticks and candy canes to create walkways or line the sidewalk and entryway. Hire a Santa impersonator to greet guests and ask everyone what they want for Christmas. This is also a great way to hand out favors, or presents from Santa. Personalized chocolate ornaments are a great favor that most everyone loves.
A "Magical" Holiday
-
Forget the traditional Christmas themes and colors, and have a magic show. Hire a magician to come put on a show during dinner to make it a "magical holiday." Hand out chocolate-dipped pretzel wands as favors with Christmas tags thanking everyone for coming. Create balloon bouquets or arrangements, and use top hats as weights to hold the balloons down. Set out small magic tricks and magic toys on the tables for guests to play with. Hand out glow necklaces and jewelry for additional fun party attire.
