Color is one of the most important things when decorating a wedding, so use hues that reflect the season. Pink, white, yellow and purple are all colors that are associated with spring. Choose one or two colors for your wedding and carry them into all of your decor, from your flowers to your tablecloths.

The cheapest way to purchase flowers for your ceremony and reception is to buy locally and in season. A wide variety of flowers are in season during the spring, such as roses, peonies, orchids, dahlias, freesia, hyacinths and cherry blossoms. Tulips, zinnias, sweet peas and anemones are also in season during springtime.
To cut the cost of flowers for your ceremony, opt out of placing flowers at the end of each aisle. Instead, purchase one or two arrangements to decorate the altar. Reuse the arrangements during the reception on the buffet or cake table.

Decorating your reception table can be done inexpensively as well. If your reception venue has tablecloths available, rent them instead of buying them. Use springtime colors for the tablecloths and napkins if possible. Instead of using vases filled with flowers, create your own water centerpieces. Fill a bowl with water and sprinkle flower petals and floating candles across the top. This centerpiece will reflect the season without breaking your budget. Sprinkle flower petals across the table for a finishing touch.

Draped fabric can easily be used to decorate your venue. Craft and fabric stores often hold sales on their seasonal colors and prints, so stock up on solid-colored fabrics in your wedding colors. Use the fabric to drape across the ceiling, cover the chairs or seal off the ends of the aisles during your ceremony.
