What Conditions Is Enbrel Approved For?

According to Drugs.com, Enbrel is a prescription medication that helps treat the symptoms of diseases related to autoimmune disorders. Enbrel functions by decreasing a substance produced by the immune system called tumor necrosis factor (TNF). Patients with immune dysfunctions produce too much TNF that can cause certain chronic medical conditions. Enbrel is approved by the FDA to treat rheumatoid arthritis, psoriactic arthritis, ankylsonging spondylitis, psoriasis and juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

    Psoriasis

Enbrel has been proven to reduce psoriasis outbreaks and prevent new outbreaks from occurring. Enbrel also helps ease the pain and inflammation associated with psoriasis.

    Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

Enbrel is prescribed to children suffering from juvenile idiopathic arthritis to reduce symptoms and increase the child's mobility.
