A good rule of etiquette while wearing a bikini, or any swimsuit for that matter, is to make sure you have a clean bikini area. There are several methods you can use to remove excess hair such as: waxing, shaving and hair removal creams. Choose the method that works best for you and that causes the least irritation, to avoid unsightly bumps on the bikini line.

Choosing Your Bikini Top

A bikini should accentuate your body. If your bikini top shows cleavage at the sides or underneath, choose a larger size. Cleavage is only meant to show at the center while wearing a bikini top. Also, if your cup size is a C-cup or more, avoid a triangular bikini top, it does not offer enough support.

Skin Care in the Sun

Keeping your skin safe from the sun's harmful rays is important. Those rays cause wrinkles, can make your skin rough and, of course, can burn you. Using sunscreen will help to keep your skin soft and keep to a minimum the red, flaky results of sunburn. A bikini body showing off healthy skin is a definite plus.

How to Accessorize

Wearing a bikini on the beach or at the pool is great, not so great for dining at a nearby restaurant. Come equipped with a sundress, this way you can throw it on quickly without the need for removing your suit. A pair of shades that block UV-rays should also be packed into your beach bag. Sunglasses look great with any bikini and will protect your eyes.
