  • There is no formal education required to work as a landman, but the American Association of Professional Landmen requires specific combinations of work experience and education for candidates who wish to sit for their credentialing examinations. The American Association of Professional Landmen offers three levels of certification including the Registered Landman, the Registered Professional Landman, and the Certified Professional Landman credentials. Candidates who wish to take the Certified Professional Landman credential must hold at least a bachelor's degree. Credentialed landmen tend to earn higher wages than those who are not credentialed.
