What Should Go in a Hospitality Basket for Wedding Reception Bathrooms?

Save

Bathroom baskets usually include toiletries and other emergency items that the bride and groom put together for the restrooms at the reception venue. The couple assembles a basket for both the women's restroom and the men's restroom, selecting appropriate items for each one, along with a welcoming letter or poem.

Toiletries

  • Fill the majority of both baskets with basic toiletries that both male and female guests will use throughout the night, such as breath mints, dental floss, and mouth wash. Add items like chap-stick and moisturizing eye drops, as well as a hair brush, comb and hair spray for guests to freshen up their appearance. Supplement the basket with some hand lotion and deodorant for guests to use at their disposal.

Fix-its

  • If a guest experiences discomfort or stains her dress, couples want to provide remedies in the bathroom basket. For first aid or minor illnesses, fill your basket with remedies such as pain relievers, antacids, bandages, tissues, and antiseptic cream. For other mishaps, supplement the basket with stain remover wipes, safety pins and a miniature sewing kit.

Women's Only

  • In the women's basket, add extra items, such as tampons and sanitary pads. In addition, stock the basket with both nude and black pantyhose and clear nail polish to stop runs in them. For problems with hairstyles, supplement the basket with hair pins, elastic rubber bands and styling spray.

Poem

  • When setting up your bathroom basket, type up a poem and place it in a decorative frame outside the basket. Search online for the preferred poem, such as this from Wedding Bee, "If your skin feels dry, your hair out of place, Your throat is parched, or whatever the case. We've put this together to help you along, Now get yourself out there before the next song!"
