Colors of Trex Decking

Save

Trex manufactures several styles of decks, porches, patios and other exterior additions. Although many of these decks look like wood, they are actually made from a highly texturized plastic wood alternative, which allows the deck to last long and maintain consistent color in the sun while resisting rot and warping. Because Trex decking is created and not made naturally, it is pigmented and dyed to assume several different shades.

Black

  • Although not as common as lighter colors, railings for Trex decks come in a shade called Charcoal Black. This shade appears as a basic matte black and is similar to the look of iron metal railings. This color is not currently available by Trex for the main deck material.

White

  • Used not only for deck railings but also for the fascia, Classic White is a matte white that is bright and pure, reflecting more light than any other color. Although also not available as a main deck color, this accent color works well with both light and dark deck color schemes. Classic White dirties easily and must be cleaned often to remain in top condition.

Gray

  • One of the most common colors for decking, gray resembles a number of natural wood colors and goes well with several exterior color schemes, both light and dark. The main decking shades of gray from Trex include, in order from light to dark, Rope Swing, Gravel Path, Pewter and the darkly textured Winchester Gray. Several of these colors are also available for accent pieces and railing segments and, while the primary decking must be textured to appear like wood, railing parts are available in a more basic matte finish.

Brown

  • The color of darker woods, brown is the most represented color for Trex decking, available in shades that are reminiscent of oak, maple, walnut and other wood species. Light brown shades of Trex decking include Spiced Rum, Acorn, Saddle, Tree House and Fire Pit, while darker shades include Madeira, Lava Rock, Vintage Lantern and Woodland Brown. As with gray shades, all primary decking material is textured and looks like stained wood, but the fascia and railing parts are available in several matte brown shades of the same name.
