Housewife's Chore List

Save

Housewives play a huge role in their families. However, not everyone fits into the traditional housewife role. These days, stay-at-moms, stay-at-home dads and those working telecommuting jobs can use the chore list to fit daily housework into their schedules. Sometimes a little help with organization by way of a simple and logically ordered list of chores can ease the pain and provide a solid guideline. No time is wasted and no stress is created trying to settle on what to tackle first.

Laundry

  • Laundry can be an annoying but necessary chore. If the family includes children, laundry may need to be done almost daily. The chore list can include guidelines, suggestions and reminders about sorting laundry, following label instructions and scheduling children's laundry and parents' laundry on alternating days -- or whites and colors on alternating days.

Housecleaning

  • With a spouse at work and the children at school, cleaning the house can go much more quickly. Consider starting in the kitchen after breakfast. Wash dishes, mop the floor, clean the stove and kitchen table and put the dishes in the cupboard. Move on to other rooms, vacuuming, polishing furniture and dusting.

Outdoor Cleaning

  • Cleaning a patio or porch can include sweeping leaves, wiping off lawn furniture and cleaning tables or benches on the patio or lawn.

Grocery Shopping

  • Scheduling grocery shopping after you have done the chores in the house can be a good idea. Remember to buy anything needed for the evening meal.

Cooking

  • It makes sense for cooking dinner to be last on the list. If your children are home from school, include them in the meal preparations.
