Bonfire parties are fun for everyone.

A bonfire party is an ideal way to celebrate any occasion with friends and family because it can be enjoyable for individuals of every age. Bonfires are all about food, games and telling stories. There are endless bonfire party ideas for celebrating any event no matter how big or small. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Kid's Bonfire Party

    • Place a rope attached to stakes in a 3-foot perimeter around the fire to help keep the kids safely away from the fire. Decorate the surroundings with a theme of the child's favorite character. Pass out glow-in-the-dark necklaces for the kids to wear so you can keep better track of them in the dark.

      Let the children play games and fill up water balloons to throw at each other to keep cool. Serve graham crackers, chocolate bars and marshmallows, along with long sticks, for the kids to make s'mores. At the end of the bonfire party, have the children sit around the fire and take turns telling ghost stories.

    Teen Bonfire Party

    • Bonfire parties for teens are an excellent way for teens to get together to celebrate a special occasion or to simply hang out. Allow an ample amount of open space for the teens and have lots of food, including hotdogs, chips and marshmallows on hand for roasting. In addition, provide a source of music to liven up the bonfire party.

    Bonfire Party Games

    • Starting with the letter A and ending with the letter Z, go through the alphabet with each person taking turns naming a word in a a specific topic that begins with the letter of the alphabet that you are currently on. Some of the many possible topics could include professions, animals, flowers, designer clothing labels or TV chefs.

      Roast marshmallows on a stick and see who can be the first to roast one that is cooked perfectly light brown all over. Those who set their marshmallow on fire are eliminated from the contest.

      Singing is always fun at a bonfire. See if everyone together can finish a complete song by taking turns singing each line of the song, or take turns singing a verse from a song and see who can guess the name of the song.

    Bonfire Safety

    • Bonfire parties can be very entertaining but they can equally be extremely hazardous. It is important to keep a good eye on the guests at all times to ensure that everyone is acting conscientiously and not putting themselves or other guests in danger. Always put out the fire when the bonfire party is over.

    Bonfire Party Tips

    • Have plenty of marshmallows, napkins, long sticks and trashcans available. Place lots of logs and chairs safely away from the bonfire and set out a cooler filled with ice and drinks. It is wise to have plenty of adults to help supervise at kid's bonfire parties.
