Dyson is a UK company that specializes in bag-less, cyclone technology vacuums. Unlike traditional vacuum cleaners, Dyson vacuum cleaners have a rubber cover in the shape of a ball that goes over the motor, and this ball helps steer the vacuum. The DC15 and DC17 are two different lines made by Dyson; their features and specifications vary.
The DC15 series includes two models of vacuum cleaner: the DC15 All Floors and the DC15 Animal. The All Floors model allows you to vacuum carpets, rugs and bare floors, and the Animal version is for people who own pets. Both of these models come with the Quick-draw Telescope Reach wand for cleaning stairs, air flow tools and a HEPA lifetime, washable filters. The Animal model also has three additional tools: the carpet care kit, animal turbo tool and low-reach floor tool. Both of these models also have the "Quick Trigger Empty" container, where you just use a button to empty the waste container.
The specs for both of these models in this series are the same. They have a 0.71 gallon capacity bin. The power cord reaches 37 feet, and the vacuum's maximum reach is 51 feet. Both vacuums are 44.09 inches high by 13.66 inches wide by 11.41 inches deep, and they weigh 19.2 lbs. Both are upright vacuums. They produce up to 1,200 watts of power, and they have a suction power of 220 air watts (aw). The HEPA filters on this model are Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America certified. Both of these models also have the standard Root Cyclone technology, which ensures that your vacuum won't lose suction.
The DC17 comes with the latest Root Cyclone technology: the Level 3 Root Cyclone. This is an improvement over the standard Root Cycle technology of the DC15 since it's able to pick up microscopic particles. This model also comes with the lifetime HEPA filter, and it is Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America certified. It comes with the Quick-draw Telescope Reach wand, a brush tool, stair tool and a crevice tool. It also has a motorized brushbar, which you can control with a fingertip brush control on the handle.
This model is 43.5 inches high by 12.3 inches wide by 16.7 inches deep, and it weighs 20.8 lbs. It has a bin capacity of 0.63 gallons, which is less than the DC15 bin capacity. It has a 35-foot power cord and a 51 foot reach. Like the DC15, it has a suction power of 220 aw.
