Gas
-
Richmond gas water heaters operate with natural gas or propane. Six-, nine- and 12-year warranties are available, depending on the model. Nine- and 12-year warranty models are equipped with the EverKleen Self-Cleaning System, which keeps sediment from clogging the water heaters. The Integra System is found on all models. This system shuts down the water heater if the system leaks dangerous vapors. One example in the gas water heater line is the Richmond 9-year warranty model, which also comes with a Piezo ignition system. Some models in this series also are Energy Star rated. The vent height on these units range from 53-7/8 inches to 63 inches.
Hybrid
-
Richmond hybrid models use a heat pump that pulls heat out of the air and heats that air more with an air compressor. All models in this series are Energy Star rated. The tanks are 40 to 50 gallons. A 12-year warranty covers the tank and parts, with a one-year warranty available to cover labor costs if the need for repair occurs. The vent and air filter on these models are found on the top.

Electric
-
All Richmond electric water heaters have vents on the top of the unit. The nine-year and 12-year warranty models are equipped with the EverKleen system. These models also come with LifeGuard stainless-steel heating elements, which are fire resistant and help extend the life of the tank. The six-year warranty model has pressure relief and temperature valves. The unit is insulated to keep in heat and has a porcelain coating.
Tankless Electric
-
Tankless electric water heaters are compact. They only heat water when needed. This system reduces waste because water is not stored hot in the tank for an extended period. These units produce 3 to 27 kilowatts of power and up to 240 volts. They range from 10 inches to 12 inches long and 5-3/8 inches to 11-1/2 inches wide. The vents on these units have three openings and are located on the right side of the unit.
Tankless Heaters
-
The difference between these units and tankless electric models is that the tankless heaters run on gas. Concentric vents on these units measure 3 inches to 5 inches in diameter, and the gas input ranges from 11,000 to 199,900 British thermal units per hour. The maximum flow rate is 9.5 gallons per hour. The temperature range for these units are 100 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit or 85 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
