Every year, schools all over the U.S. have fundraisers to help raise money for different educational programs, sports and new school equipment. When choosing a fundraiser, you need to consider what fundraiser will be most beneficial in your area. Choose something that will be fun for the children to sell as well as beneficial to the people who will be buying the things that you're selling.

Have each class pick a theme for their basket; for example, they could choose a sports, stationery or food basket; there are hundreds of different ideas for filling baskets. When collecting items to fill the baskets, call around to different stores to ask for donations and ask parents to help out with purchasing items for the baskets. This is another quick and simple way to make money for your school. You need to decide what candy or candies you want to sell. When you have decided on and purchased the candy, give each child a set amount of candy to sell. Have them sell the candy for $1 a piece. After you have taken the money out for the cost of the candy, the rest of the money is all profit for your school.
Cookie Dough Fundraiser

This is a fun and simple fundraiser. All you need to do is go to schoofundraiser.com and register, then pass out the booklets that you will receive. Sell the product for about three weeks; collect the money as you sell the products. You will get to keep 50 percent of the total sales.
Frozen Pizza Kit Fundraiser

This is a little more time consuming than some of the fundraisers out there but it is a good way to make money for your school. You will receive booklets that have the pizza kits shown. Hand out the booklets to the kids participating in the fundraiser. Sell the pizzas for about a month and collect the money as you sell. When the pizzas come in, you have to sort them out and ensure that they are picked up in about four hours after they are delivered to your school.

This is great for high school students raising money for prom. All you need to do is find a a place big enough to hold the car wash, with access to a water source. Make posters and have kids stand out and hold them to attract customers. Have the price per car be around $5. You'll make a 100 percent profit for your school.

This is a tasty and simple fundraiser. You can call around to the local bakeries to ask if they will donate some of their baked goods. You can also have parents make some of their favorite desserts. Make sure that you have a variety, and have things packaged singly and in larger quantities; also sell water and soda.

This is a year-long fundraiser. All you need to do is send a letter home telling parents to save their box tops. For every box top collected, your school will earn 10 cents. There is no money needed to start this fundraiser. Your school could earn thousands of dollars a year with this simple fundraiser.
