Military Wedding Colors

Match your wedding colors to the military uniform of the groom.

Your wedding colors for a military wedding should match the groom's dress uniform. If you are getting married in the winter, the armed forces usually have a navy dress uniform for such occasions. White uniforms are worn during the summer. No matter when you plan your nuptials, there are colors that will not clash with the uniform.

  1. Navy

    • Navy bridesmaids dresses are the obvious choice for a military wedding. Navy can work with winter and spring weddings. Yellow can be an accent color in the flowers and decorations to brighten up the look of the bridal party.

    Red

    • Red is a good choice that works well with winter weddings, in which the groom and groomsmen will wear the dress blues. Red will bring out the small hints of red in the uniform.

    Gray

    • Select a steel gray or shade similarly dark. This will work well with dress blues and will match better than a light gray would. Steel gray bridesmaid dress will also contrast better with white bridal gown than a paler gray.

    Gold

    • Gold will not clash with the gold in the white or navy dress uniform. Gold can be used in the floral arrangements, bridesmaids dresses and wedding decorations.
