Cute Gifts for 3rd Grade Students at Christmas

As a teacher, it's easy to get attached to your pupils. It is a pleasure to see the children learn and experience new things while they are in your care. One way you can give back to the children is to give each of them a small gift at Christmas. These gifts should not be large or expensive, and they should be the same for each child. Choose a gift based on the interests of your pupils and the subjects in which they had the most interest.

  • A gift of media is an appropriate, inexpensive gift that you can give to third-grade pupils. Take a class photo about a month before Christmas, then give each child a copy of the picture. You can also take pictures throughout the year, set them to music and put them on a CD for the children to play at home. Include special events, such as class plays, parent visits, show-and-tell days and any other special events in the class.

Classroom Coupons

  • Classroom coupons are one of the least expensive gift ideas for pupils. These coupons can be redeemed during the semester after Christmas. Make coupons such as “Skip one day of homework” or “Free activity period.” Third-graders may also like responsibility coupons, such as “Room monitor for the day,” “Teacher’s assistant for the day” or “Pet monitor.” Come up with coupons that are relevant to your pupils and classroom.

  • Books are a gift that most third-grade children will enjoy. Third grade is one of the first grades in which reading changes from a laborious activity to an instinctive one. Most children in the third grade see reading as a fun activity that is an enjoyable alternative to other class activities. Choose a book that the class read during the year, or one that is recommended reading in your school. You can also choose an age-appropriate favorite book.

  • Puzzles are also educational and fun gifts that most third-graders will enjoy. You can choose a small book of word or number puzzles, brain teaser puzzles or traditional box puzzles. Choose puzzles between 100 and 250 pieces so that the children are challenged but not overwhelmed. You can also make a booklet of puzzles that you create yourself, using events, words and events that happened in class. You can also include names of class members, which will delight the pupils.
