JavaScript Void Error
Web programmers use the JavaScript Void function to prevent a link from navigating to another page. You can see an example of this when clicking a link that creates a popup box. If you are getting JavaScript Voice errors while browsing a website, you can usually solve the issue by adjusting your Internet browser settings. Unfortunately, it is possible that the error is caused by improper programming on the back end of the website.
-
Disable Popup Blocking Software
-
Most popup blockers do a good job of detecting legitimate popups, but they can occasionally be overzealous in protecting you. JavaScript can be exploited to negatively interact with your computer by means of malware. To disable your popup blocker, use the settings to either temporarily disable to program completely or disable the program whenever you visit the specific website you are currently browsing. Refresh the webpage and see if you still get the JavaScript Void error.
Enable JavaScript
-
Although JavaScript is enabled by default on Internet browsers, you may have turned it off. To reenable it, open the preferences or settings for your browser, navigate to the privacy or security tab, and locate the check box for JavaScript. Make sure that it is checked.
-
Disable Proxy
-
Not all web proxies support JavaScript. Some people or organizations who run proxy servers attempt to limit the content used on the server by blocking JavaScript. However, several proxies do not block JavaScript. Consult the website where you get your proxy lists to find one with JavaScript support. Alternatively, disable the proxy altogether and use your personal Internet connection.
Change or Upgrade Browser
-
JavaScript has been supported in most Internet browsers for several years, but some older browsers may not interact properly with more recent updates to the JavaScript code. To upgrade your browser, navigate to the official website for the browser and click the link to download the latest version. If you already have the latest version installed, your browser may not be supported by the website you are visiting. Try browsing the website on another browser. If you are still getting the JavaScript void error, it is likely an issue with the JavaScript programming.
