Kids Art Gallery Centerpiece Ideas

Art classes and schools often exhibit children's artwork.

You can celebrate the achievements of young artists with centerpieces for a kids art gallery. Centerpieces dress up and create a focal point for each table, and a kids art gallery centerpiece is well suited for an opening reception or a party for the children participants. You can create these decorations with the budding artists in mind without forsaking beauty.

  1. Masterpiece

    • You can recreate well-known artwork for your centerpiece. Choose artwork that relates to the gallery show or party theme, such as abstract expressionism or Renaissance painters. Invite the children participating to construct their version of the miniature art, such as the "Mona Lisa." Paint it onto the smallest size canvas you can find, approximately 6-by-4-inches, and frame it with a gilded antique-looking frame. Hang the tiny masterpiece onto a small easel in the center of the table. Surround the framed painting with votive candles in clear glass holders.

    Colors

    • To form a centerpiece about colors, fill a glass cube one-third of the way with water. Add a few drops of food coloring to make one color. If you are using several centerpieces, each one should showcase a particular color. Pour mineral oil into the glass cube so it is two-thirds full. Glitter or small plastic toys, such as balls or starfish, can be added. Light two floating candles and place them into the colored water.

    Art Supplies

    • Use only clean and new art supplies for the centerpieces.

You can feature art supplies for your project by using a tall and thick glass vase approximately 10 inches thick and 20 inches tall for this centerpiece. Fill it with art supplies that were used for your kids art gallery show. For example, if it is a ceramics exhibition, place small packages of brightly colored polymer clay with clay tools into the vase. For a drawing show, add colored pencils, crayons and erasers into the glass. Arrange the materials into the vase so they look colorful and inviting. Tie a 2-inch thick ribbon around the top of the vase and create a large bow.

You can celebrate the young artists by photographing the artwork in the kids art gallery. Print them out in color onto glossy photo-paper so they are approximately 3-by-3-inches. Glue them onto bamboo skewers or craft sticks. Fill a white ceramic flowerpot roughly 6-by-5-inches with sand. Insert each art photograph into the sand like a flower arrangement. Feature tall photograph on sticks mixed together with shorter sticks so each artwork is clearly visible. Add a layer of small pebbles onto the sand inside the flowerpot.
