Relationship games can make a long-distance relationship seem less lonely.

Sustaining a long-distance relationship is never easy. Even if you have time to talk on the phone every day, there is no real substitute for face-to-face contact and touch. Nonetheless, there are plenty of relationship games you can play to get closer, build the relationship and keep learning about each other. Remember that in these games, the goal isn't to win, but to maintain and further your intimacy.

  1. 1,000 Questions

    • One good way to get to know each other is to both answer 1,000 questions about yourselves and compare. 1,000 may seem like a high number, but in a long-distance relationship, you have time to stretch out the game over days, weeks or months. Come up with your own list together of questions about childhood experiences, deepest fears, favorite memories and anything else. Alternatively, get the book "1000 Questions for Couples," answer the questions individually and compare.

    Truth or Dare

    • Truth or Dare is a classic get-to-know-you game for risk takers and is also perfect for long-distance couples seeking to build their connection. Play over the phone, over Internet text chat or through voice chat with a webcam. Ask each other personal and intimate questions and learn about your partner. Bond over funny or bold dares that challenge your comfort zone and spice up your relationship.

"How Much Do I Love You?"

    • Funny or ironic games about your love for each other are a great way to become closer to your partner, even when you live in different cities. Use email to write your partner an over-the-top, silly or nerdy profession of your love, such as, "I love you more than the power of every child's smile in the world." Have your partner write you back with a profession of love that tries to one-up yours. Keep going back and forth with increasingly hyperbolic and sillier similes.

    Personal Quiz

    • One way to find out how well your long-distance partner really knows you is through an online quiz about yourself. You can design your own through email or use a website that does it for you based on your personal information. Have your partner answer questions about your place of birth, your favorite foods and books, places you have traveled and anything else about you that you think your partner should know. Have your partner make a quiz for you to answer. See who knows the most about the other.
