Give children construction paper in the colors of the football teams playing in the Super Bowl. Make individual wreaths for each team or combine the colors together by putting one team’s colors on one side of the wreath and the other team’s colors on the other side. Have the children trace their hands on the construction paper and cut them out. Glue the handprints to a paper plate. Cut out the middle of the paper plate to make a ring for the wreath’s base. Make a sign that reads “________ vs __________” and “Super Bowl _________” to hang in the middle of the wreath.
Show your team spirit with a Super Bowl-themed wreath to hang on the door. Decorate the wreath with both team colors or make individual team football wreaths and get the children involved. From a handprint wreath to a baby-shower wreath for a mommy-to-be, all you need are some ideas and creativity.
Make a fabric wreath using a polystyrene foam wreath form as the base. Cut strips of fabric in the colors of the football team, as well as strips of football-themed fabric. Make the strips approximately 10 inches in length and 2 inches in width. Tie each piece of fabric around the wreath. Make a wreath for each team or mix the colors together. Another idea is to cut long strips of fabric and wrap it around the foam wreath. Use glue to hold the ends of the fabric onto the wreath form
Decorate a grapevine wreath with football-themed ribbon or ribbon in the teams' colors. Tie the ribbon onto the wreath and weave it in and out of the grapevine. Hot glue small plastic footballs, helmets, jerseys and cheerleaders onto the wreath for added decoration. Add a lightweight wooden plaque in the middle, if desired, with the Superbowl number and teams.
Baby Shower Wreath
For a football fan whose baby shower falls at Super Bowl time, incorporate the game into the shower's decorations. Roll up size 1 or size 2 diapers and tie them with ribbons in the colors of the mommy-to-be's favorite team. Tie each diaper to a foam wreath form. When the form is covered, add football-themed toys and small baby accessories including rolled washcloths, and burp cloths, bottles and pacifiers.
