Crafts for All Souls Day
All Souls Day is a Catholic holiday that is observed annually on November 2 (unless this falls on a Sunday, in which it is celebrated on November 3). This religious holiday is dedicated to remembering those who have died and are still suffering in purgatory. Help children learn about All Souls Day with creative craft ideas that are designed to get them engaged while having fun.

Paper Plate Mask
-
Let kids make a craft that they can wear for All Souls Day. Create a paper plate mask by cutting out eye holes from a large paper plate. Let the children use crayons, markers, glue and colored construction paper to draw a creative face, complete with nose and mouth. Punch two holes on each side of the mask and run a piece of string through them, so they can wear it.
Candle Lanterns
-
Create candle lanterns so that children can light up their porches on the evening of All Souls Day. Let them paint soup cans with different vibrant colors, then trace outlines of figures such as bats, pumpkins, or crosses onto the cans once dry. An adult can then tap small holes outlining their designs. Darken the room or wait until night to put in candles and test the lanterns out, although the colors make them festive during the day as well.

Pasta Skeleton
-
A pasta skeleton is easy and ideal for small fingers. To make one, draw the outline of a skeleton using a white crayon on black paper. Glue the pasta to the black paper using white glue. Have the children arrange the pasta on the paper before gluing. Different pasta makes for better body parts. For example, a wagon wheel pasta is perfect for the head, while long tubes are good for collar bones, as well as arm and leg bones.
Edible Skeleton Craft
-
Make your own iced sugar cookies in the shape of skeletons for an edible All Souls Day craft. Bake the shaped cookies ahead of time and then have kids frost them for a sweet treat.
