Hunting Rules

RSS
  • Alabama Felons & Hunting Rules

Alabama has no laws that expressly prohibit convicted felons from hunting. However, there are both federal and state laws that restrict a felon's ability to possess firearms or ammunition. This includes sporting firearms such as hunting rifles. However, all felons are still free to hunt by bow or other means that do not involve firearms.

  • Rules of CRP Land Hunting

Designed as a voluntary program for agricultural landowners to control erosion, the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) offers annual rental payments for eligible farmland. Some states, such as Nebraska, combine the CRP program with the state conservation agency and local Pheasants Forever chapters. For hunters, these CRP areas provide hunting opportunities for deer, coyotes and upland game. Before hunting on CRP, however, there are rules and regulations that must be followed.

  • Saskatchewan Hunting Rules

Saskatchewan is very popular amongst hunters. According to the Government of Saskatchewan's website, each year approximately $107.5 million, or eight percent of the total tourist spending, comes from hunters. Those hunting in the area must follow all rules and regulations set forth by the government. These rules protect the hunter as well as others in the area.

  • Predator Hunting Rules in Colorado

Predator hunting requires advanced calling, stalking and tracking skills. Colorado hunters can target coyotes, mountain lions and bears in different seasons. The regulations vary by hunting unit and strict regulations apply. (Hunting unit boundaries appear on Division of Wildlife maps.) Hunters may go after predators as trophies or to protect livestock and land. The method of take is limited and all hunters must be prepared to communicate with wildlife officers.

  • Michigan's Private Land Hunting Rules

Michigan's Hunting Access Program (HAP) allows the public to hunt on private lands in southern Michigan that have been leased by the state. Access is usually first-come, first-served, so the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) advises you plan ahead. The available permits for the first days of the pheasant and firearm deer seasons go quickly.

  • Hunting Lease Rules

According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 12.5 million people hunted throughout the U.S. in 2006. If you want to lease your land to hunters, have the proper rules in place to ensure a safe and profitable venture. Put your rules on a written lease agreement and have it signed by the lessee. Rules here are for illustration purposes only; consult an attorney to design your own.
