Step1
Be comfortable with a running/sports bra. Shop smart by trying it on and running in place, moving and stretching.
Step2
See and be seen in reflective wear. Reflective vests, portions of shoes and built-in all-over reflective jackets are important for anyone who runs in the dark. Make sure they are made with breathable fabrics, such as Gore-Tex.
Step3
Avoid the hazards of UV exposure to your eyes by investing in running sunglasses. Most sports sunglasses come in a wraparound style to ensure maximum UV blockage. Adjustable ear stems, interchangeable lenses, and adjustable frame angles are other options you may want. Gray lenses are recommended for bright sunlight, brown or bronze for a hazy sun, and amber or yellow for cloud cover or fog.
Step4
Bring along your baby with a running stroller. These three-wheeled carts are lightweight but sturdy. Look for a hand brake, a canopy for sun protection, and easy-folding features for storage.
Step5
Remember hats and gloves. A visor blocks the sun, and make sure headbands, ski hats and gloves are made from sports performance fabrics.
Step6
Check out digital running/sports watches and heart rate monitors.
