How to Call a Strategic Timeout in Racquetball

In the fast-paced game of racquetball, a timeout allows you to regroup and catch your breath.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Racquetball Goggles
  • Racquetball Rackets
  • Racquetballs
  • Water Bottles With Squeeze Caps
  1. Step 1

    Use your timeouts wisely. You're allowed three in a 21-point game and two in an 11-point game.

  2. Step 2

    Stop your opponent's run of points after four or five consecutive winners. The goal is to throw off your opponent's timing and rhythm.

  3. Step 3

    Take a break if you start feeling tired.

  4. Step 4

    Rest if you've hurt yourself.

  5. Step 5

    Call a timeout if you've lost your concentration. Take the time to regain your focus on the game.

Tips & Warnings
  • Timeouts last 30 seconds.
  • Avoid using your timeouts just because you have them. You want to keep a semblance of rhythm to your game.
  • Save at least one timeout for the end of the game just in case you need it.
