How to Block Someone From Reading My Tweets

When you create a Twitter account it is set to be public by default, meaning that anyone can view your tweets regardless of whether the user is on your follower list. The "Block" option doesn't actually block users from viewing tweets on a public profile -- all it does is allow you to block a particular user from following you. If you want to prevent someone from reading your tweets, the only way to do so is by making your entire profile private.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to Twitter and sign in to your account.

    • 2

Click "Settings" and scroll down to the bottom of the Account tab.

    • 3

Select the check box labeled "Protect My Tweets."

    • 4

Click "Save." Enter your password and click "Save Changes" to confirm that you want to make your tweets private.

Tips & Warnings

  • If the person you want to block is following you, navigate to her profile and click "Block User." The user won't be able to follow you or send you messages.
