How to Unblock People on Skype

Unblock a Skype contact when you are ready to talk again.

Blocking people on Skype allows you to control who can talk to you at any given time. If you wish to avoid talking to all of your contacts for a brief period, setting your Skype status to invisible can be a simpler way of getting out of talking to your friends. Once you have blocked a contact, he cannot contact you or even see that you are online. If you eventually miss chatting with this contact, unblock him. Once you unblock a contact, he can see your online status and freely communicate with you again.

Instructions

    • 1

Sign in to the Skype account on which you blocked the contact in question.

    • 2

Click the "Tools" option at the top of Skype, and then click "Options" in the list that appears.

    • 3

Click "Privacy" on the left side of the window that opens, and then click "Blocked Contacts" just below this option.

    • 4

Find the contact you wish to unblock in the list of "Blocked People" that appears. Click him, and then click "Unblock This Person."

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also unblock a contact by finding him in your main Skype contacts list. Right-click his name in this list, and then click "Unblock This Person" in the list of options that appears.
